Moredon

Moredon sits to the north-east of Swindon town centre and is mainly a residential neighbourhood built around Moredon Road. The area has a primary school, a small parade of shops, community facilities and playing fields used for local sports. Local bus services link Moredon to central Swindon and nearby employment areas, and a compact industrial estate provides light industry and trade businesses within the neighbourhood. Housing ranges from terraces to semi-detached homes, and streets are interspersed with small green spaces and allotments used by residents.

Along the southern edge of Moredon the Great Western Main Line runs past the neighbourhood, where freight sidings known as Moredon Sidings sit beside the rails and are visible from parts of the area. That railway presence has shaped local road patterns and the location of some light industrial units. Community activity tends to centre on the school, the playing fields and several social venues that host clubs and events for families and older residents.
