Mudchute

Mudchute is an area on the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It sits on reclaimed dockland and is served by Mudchute DLR station, which links the neighbourhood to the Docklands Light Railway network. The street pattern and housing mix reflect post‑war council development and later regeneration, with low‑rise terraces and mid‑rise flats alongside community facilities. Local shops and a library serve a residential catchment that includes family housing and social housing estates.

At the heart of the area is Mudchute Park and Farm, a working urban farm that spans about 32 acres (13 hectares) of open space where livestock, allotments and stables coexist with walking paths. The farm runs education sessions and volunteer programmes and operates stables that provide livery and riding activities within the borough. Community allotments and hedgerows form a green corridor across the Isle of Dogs, and footpaths through the site give views back toward the surrounding streets, while regular events link the farm to nearby schools and local groups.
