Nettleham

Nettleham ward lies just northeast of Lincoln's city boundary, forming a large semi-rural administrative area within West Lindsey. The landscape is characterised by open farmland and several small villages, with the historic village of Nettleham itself serving as the central settlement. The area includes the hamlets of Grange de Lings and Riseholme, the latter housing a prominent agricultural college campus. Development is primarily residential, with a mix of older properties and newer housing estates spreading out from the village cores.

The ward retains a distinct identity separate from the city, with its own local services and community facilities centred on the village green and church. A notable feature is the former Bishop's Palace, a scheduled monument with medieval origins located near the village centre. Transport links are provided by the A46, which skirts the area, connecting it to Lincoln and the wider road network. Land use is a balance between residential growth, educational facilities at Riseholme, and surrounding agricultural land.
