Newbridge

Newbridge sits on the west side of Bath, along the A4 Bath Road where the carriageway links the city to the M4 corridor. The area grew around the junction often called Newbridge Roundabout and the road bridge that gives the locality its name. Newbridge Park and Ride is on the A4 and provides regular bus links into the city centre, making the area a commuter hub. Small retail and light industrial units line parts of the main road, while the ward boundary meets other Bath suburbs to the east and north.

Housing in Newbridge mixes post-war estates with later infill, and local services reflect that mix. Newbridge Primary School and a community hall anchor daily life; shops and a petrol forecourt serve passing traffic. There are pockets of playing fields and allotments that host weekend sports and gardening activity. The electoral ward carries the same name for council purposes, so local issues such as traffic on the A4 and development along the main road are often discussed at parish and council meetings.
