Nine Elms

Nine Elms is a riverside ward in central Wandsworth, situated on a sweeping bend of the Thames opposite Pimlico. The area is dominated by large-scale regeneration, featuring extensive new residential tower developments and commercial spaces. Its industrial past is still visible in the converted Battersea Power Station, a major landmark that now houses shops, offices, and apartments. The linear Nine Elms Lane forms a central artery through the district, connecting various construction sites and completed projects.

The ward includes the landscaped parkland of the new Nine Elms Park and the Thames Path walkway along the riverbank. The location is served by two recently opened London Underground stations on the Northern Line extension, improving transport links significantly. The New Covent Garden Market, the UK's largest wholesale fruit, vegetable, and flower market, operates here from its modern premises. This mix of high-density living, commerce, and historic infrastructure defines the area's current character.
