About

North Hanwell occupies the western edge of the London Borough of Ealing, bordered by the River Brent and the Grand Union Canal. The area is primarily residential, characterised by Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, with some post-war developments. Its landscape is defined by the sloping terrain towards the river and the significant green corridor formed by the waterways. The ward includes the southern section of Brent Lodge Park, commonly known as the 'Bunny Park'.

The area's transport identity is strongly linked to the Great Western Railway, with Hanwell station providing key connections. Local commerce is centred along the Uxbridge Road and Boston Road, serving the community's daily needs. The presence of St. Mark's Hospital and several schools adds institutional anchors. The Hanwell Flight of locks on the Grand Union Canal, a notable series of six locks, represents a focal point of local industrial heritage and linear parkland.
