Ore

The Ore area is situated on the western edge of Hastings, rising inland from the town centre. It is primarily a residential district, characterised by a mix of housing types from Victorian terraces to more modern developments. The area serves as a local hub with its own high street providing essential shops and services for the community. Its elevated position offers views across the town towards the English Channel.

A central feature is Ore Village, which retains a distinct historical identity as a former settlement absorbed by Hastings' expansion. The area is anchored by the prominent Church of St. Helen's on the Ridge. Ore Place, an 18th-century manor house later used by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, stands as a notable local landmark amidst the surrounding housing. The district provides direct access to expansive countryside walks on the adjoining Hastings Country Park.
