Ottershaw & Lyne

Ottershaw & Lyne is a primarily residential area in the northern part of the Runnymede borough, characterised by large detached homes and significant areas of woodland. The settlement pattern is linear, following the historic routes between Chertsey and Woking. The landscape includes the grounds of the former Ottershaw Park, now home to a school, and the expansive Chobham Common heathland extends into its southern edges, providing a distinct natural boundary.

The area is defined by its semi-rural feel, with pockets of agriculture and equestrian land interspersed between housing estates. A notable local landmark is the 19th-century Christ Church, Ottershaw, built in the decorated Gothic style. Transport links are provided by the M25 motorway, which skirts the area, and the nearby railway station at Chertsey.
