Pendeford

Pendeford sits to the north of Wolverhampton city centre and combines residential streets with pockets of industrial and commercial land. Much of the business space occupies ground that was once an airfield, now laid out as a business park alongside mixed housing. Local services include primary schools, a community centre and a parade of shops serving everyday needs; travel routes link Pendeford into the city and toward Staffordshire without crossing other districts.

The area is anchored by Pendeford Mill Country Park, where the River Penk runs through a mill pond and wetland edge that mark the old mill site. Paths follow the river course and cross small footbridges by the sluice structures that control the pond level. Community events and school visits often use the reserve as an outdoor classroom, and the mill pond provides a clear way to read local industrial history at the water’s edge.
