Pomeroy ward encompasses a rural landscape of small settlements and farmland within the rolling hills of Mid Ulster. The area is centred around the village of Pomeroy itself, which acts as a local service hub along the main Ballygawley Road. The area's history is closely linked to the linen industry, with several former mill sites located along local waterways. The ward includes the prominent landmark of Knockmany Hill, atop which stands an ancient passage tomb known as Anni's Cairn. This prehistoric site offers extensive views over the surrounding countryside, reflecting the area's long-standing settlement.
