About

Regent's Park itself is a large, structured green space in northwest Westminster. It contains formal gardens, a boating lake, and the London Zoo. The park is encircled by an outer ring road and an inner circle, with grand, white-stucco terraces like Cumberland Terrace facing the greenery. These classical buildings were part of John Nash's original architectural plan for the Prince Regent.

The area immediately outside the park is primarily residential, with mansion blocks and embassy buildings. It borders the canal network at its northern edge. The park's open-air theatre hosts performances during the summer months. This is a district of ordered calm, dominated by the park's layout and its surrounding architectural harmony.
