Severn

Severn ward is located in the southern part of Stroud town, primarily a residential area bordering the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. It includes the neighbourhoods of Dudbridge and Lower Street, characterised by a mix of housing types from Victorian terraces to more modern developments. The area is defined by its proximity to the waterway and the steep, wooded valley slopes that rise from it, creating a distinct topography.

The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal forms a central linear feature, with the historic Dudbridge Locks and a former mill site providing local points of interest. Transport links are key, with the main railway line running through the ward. The area serves as a gateway between the town centre and the more rural landscapes extending southwards along the canal towpath.
