About

Skegness South occupies the southern section of the town’s seafront on the Lincolnshire coast in East Lindsey. The area runs from the central pier down to the southern beaches and includes the promenade, sandy shore, groynes and a cluster of amusement arcades and family attractions on the seaward side. A large holiday camp sits on the southern stretch of the promenade and several caravan parks line the rear of the beach. The Jolly Fisherman image by John Hassall, created to promote Skegness in the early 20th century, is visible on signs and a seafront display, linking the strip to the town’s long holiday trade.

Behind the frontage, streets of housing mix with shops, cafes and small local services that support both year-round residents and seasonal visitors. Public paths and coastal access points give short routes to the sand and sea defences; bus stops and local roads provide links into the rest of Skegness and the wider East Lindsey area. The pattern of holiday accommodation, local trade and seaside infrastructure defines how the southern seafront is used through the year.
