About

South Lancing is the southern quarter of the village of Lancing in Adur, West Sussex. It sits between the A27 corridor to the north and the seafront to the south, and is largely residential with terraces, semi-detached homes and pockets of council housing. Local shopping parades, primary schools and a community hall serve day-to-day needs. Streets are laid out in a mix of grid and winding patterns that step down gently toward the coast, and public transport links on the West Coastway corridor are within walking distance for many residents.

The coastline at the southern edge of the area is a shingle beach backed by a promenade and a line of concrete groynes that mark the shore when the tide is low. Overhead, the South Downs form the backdrop where the plain rises to chalk hills to the north. Small green spaces, allotments and play areas are scattered through the neighbourhood, and a network of footpaths and cycle links provides direct access to the seafront and to nearby services in Adur.
