St Ives East, Lelant & Carbis Bay

St Ives East, Lelant & Carbis Bay ward encompasses coastal settlements along the western shore of the Hayle Estuary. The area includes the village of Lelant, with its historic church and links golf course overlooking the water. Carbis Bay is noted for its sheltered, sandy beach and steep, wooded valley leading down to the shore. The ward boundary extends to the eastern edges of St Ives town, where residential streets climb the hillsides.

A key feature is the St Ives Bay Line, a scenic railway that connects these communities, running directly alongside Carbis Bay beach. The railway and the South West Coast Path provide primary transport and walking routes. Landscape is defined by the estuary, beaches, and agricultural land, with less focus on the tourism found in central St Ives. The Hayle Estuary itself is a significant RSPB reserve for overwintering birds.
