Stonecot

Stonecot ward occupies the northeastern section of the Sutton borough. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of interwar and post-war housing estates alongside some newer developments. Its main thoroughfares include Sutton Common Road and Green Lane, which provide local shopping parades and bus routes connecting to Sutton town centre and neighbouring Morden. The ward contains several schools and large areas of open space, including the expansive Sutton Common, which provides recreational fields and a nature reserve.

The landscape is notably shaped by the route of the old Roman road, Stane Street, which forms part of the ward's boundary. A distinctive local landmark is the historic stone marking this ancient route, from which the ward derives its name. Industrial and business units are concentrated along the borders near the railway line, which carries Thameslink services. The overall atmosphere is suburban, with a focus on local community facilities and access to green spaces for residents.
