Totton Town

Totton serves as a key gateway to the New Forest National Park, functioning as a practical residential and commercial hub for the region. The area is characterised by its mix of housing estates, retail parks, and light industrial units, providing essential services to a wide catchment area. It sits at the confluence of the Rivers Test and Blackwater, with the landscape gradually giving way to the forest's heathland on its fringes.

The town retains a distinct identity separate from nearby Southampton, with a historic centre focused around its railway station and a traditional high street. A notable local feature is the Eling Tide Mill, one of the few remaining operable tide mills in the country, situated on the causeway to the village of Eling. Regular markets and community events are held in the central precinct, reinforcing its role as a functional town centre.
