Townhill Park

Townhill Park is a residential area in the northern part of Southampton, centred on Townhill Park Road. The neighbourhood was developed mainly in the mid-20th century and is made up of streets with a mix of houses and later infill. Local services are concentrated along the shopping parade on Townhill Park Road, which hosts small shops, a community centre and a primary school. Pockets of public open space and playing fields are interspersed through the estate, and a wooded ridge to the north gives parts of the area a noticeable change in level.

On the edge of the estate sits Townhill Park House and its surrounding parkland, used for walks and short routes into adjoining green space. Bus routes connect the area with Southampton city centre and other suburban hubs, and local roads provide links to the city’s main routes. Community life revolves around local clubs, the community centre and sports pitches near the parade. Housing tenure includes long-standing private owners alongside council and housing association properties.
