Uckfield Town & North

Uckfield Town sits along the River Uck, with the High Street forming its main commercial corridor. The area functions as a key service centre for the surrounding rural parts of Wealden, hosting civic buildings, supermarkets, and local businesses. Residential streets extend from the core, featuring a mix of architectural styles from different periods. The landscape begins to rise gently towards the north, where development gives way to more open spaces and farmland.

The northern area is characterised by the rolling fields and wooded ridges of the Weald. Housing estates on the town's fringes transition into scattered farms and smaller hamlets like High Hurstwood. A notable local landmark is the preserved Bluebell Railway, which operates heritage steam trains northwards from its station just outside the town centre. This area is defined by its position within the High Weald, an ancient landscape of small fields, hedgerows, and deciduous woodland.
