Uplands & Funtley

Uplands & Funtley ward lies on the northern edge of Fareham, characterised by residential developments and areas of open green space. The ward includes the modern housing estates of the Uplands area, built in the latter part of the 20th century, alongside the older, more rural village core of Funtley. This creates a mix of suburban living and semi-rural edges, with the housing primarily consisting of detached and semi-detached homes.

The landscape is defined by the valley of the River Meon, which flows through Funtley. The historic Funtley Mill, a former ironworks and paper mill site, sits beside the river. The area is bordered by woodland and farmland, with footpaths following the river valley providing access into the wider countryside, separating it from the more urban centre of Fareham to the south.
