Walderslade

Walderslade sits within the Medway unitary area, to the south of Chatham and on the northern fringe of the North Downs. The place is split between residential estates and broad areas of woodland known locally as Walderslade Woods. Those woods include mapped public footpaths and rides that link pockets of ancient coppice and chalky slopes. Housing here dates mainly from mid-20th century building phases alongside later infill, so streets and green corridors sit close together. The pattern of small local centres, short terraces and housing clusters means most homes are within easy walking distance of a shop parade or a community green.

Local provision includes primary schools, a community centre and a small group of shops and takeaways serving daily needs, with larger supermarkets and services a short drive away in Chatham or Rochester. Bus routes run into the Medway towns and the M2 is reachable within minutes by car, giving road access toward Maidstone and the coast.
