About

Weaverham is a village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, set on the northern side of the River Weaver and within the Weaver valley. The settlement sits a few miles north of Northwich and is organised around a village centre with a parish church, a primary school, local shops and a recreation ground. Farming and small-scale local services shape much of the land use around the village, with lanes linking out to neighbouring settlements and the A49 and A533 providing regional routes.

The river has shaped Weaverham’s history: improvements to the Weaver for navigation in the 18th century run close by, where locks and quays once carried salt and other cargo toward the Mersey. The parish retains traces of that working landscape alongside more modern housing and community facilities, and local groups use the village hall and sports pitches for events and clubs. Public footpaths and lanes allow access to the riverbank and to nearby woodlands and farmland.
