West

West ward in Peterborough is located to the immediate west of the city centre, primarily encompassing the suburb of West Town. The area is largely residential, characterised by a mix of Victorian terraced housing and more modern developments. It is bordered by the A15 to the west and the A47 to the north, with the River Nene forming a significant part of its southern boundary. The ward includes the district of Woodston, which sits across the river, connected by several bridges.

A key feature of the area is the extensive embankment and parkland along the River Nene, which provides a long, open green corridor for walking and cycling. The ward contains the Peterborough United football ground, London Road Stadium, a focal point for the community. Industrial and commercial estates are situated in the northern parts, particularly around the Fengate area, which has a long history of warehousing and light industry.
