Western

The Western ward of Leicester encompasses a primarily residential area situated to the west of the city centre, bordered by the A563 and stretching out toward the suburb of Braunstone. Its housing stock is a mix of interwar semis-detached homes and later 20th-century developments, providing a significant portion of the city's housing. The ward is served by local shopping parades along key routes like Hinckley Road and Narborough Road, which cater to daily needs with independent shops and supermarkets.

A notable feature within the ward is the large, historic Braunstone Park, one of Leicester's biggest public parks, which offers extensive green space, woodlands, and sports facilities. The area is also home to several schools and the campus of Leicester College. Transport links are central to its character, with the A47 and A50 providing major road connections, while the Grand Union Canal runs along its southern boundary, adding a linear waterway corridor for recreation and wildlife.
