Winson Green & Gib Heath

Winson Green and Gib Heath lie just northwest of Birmingham city centre, a mix of residential streets, small shops and community facilities. Winson Green is known for HM Prison Birmingham, which sits on the edge of the neighbourhood and marks a long-standing institutional presence. Soho Road runs through the area and provides a spine of local commerce and frequent bus services into the city. Gib Heath occupies slightly higher ground to the west of Winson Green and includes a stretch of open space used for informal sport and play.
