Audenshaw

Audenshaw is situated in the eastern part of the Tameside borough, bordering the city of Manchester. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of interwar and post-war housing estates. Its landscape is defined by the presence of the Ashton Canal, which runs through the ward, and the large Audenshaw Reservoirs complex to the north. These water features provide a distinct element to the local geography, separating neighbourhoods and offering linear green space along the towpaths.

The area functions with several local shopping parades serving the community's daily needs. Industrial and commercial activity is concentrated in pockets, particularly near the major road junctions of the M60 motorway and A635. A notable local landmark is the historic Audenshaw Grammar School building, which dates back to the 1930s.
