Baildon

Baildon ward occupies the northwestern edge of the Bradford metropolitan district, bordering the Aire Valley and the southern slopes of Rombalds Moor. The area is largely residential, with housing ranging from Victorian terraces near the centre to larger detached properties on its elevated fringes. Its landscape is defined by the steep climb from the river towards Baildon Moor, an expanse of open heathland that forms a significant part of the ward's geography.

The community is served by local shops and services concentrated along Otley Road and in the village core. Baildon maintains a distinct identity separate from the urban centre of Bradford, partly due to its location within the historic West Riding of Yorkshire. The moorland provides common grazing rights for locals, a traditional practice that continues to shape the area's character and land use.
