Balderton

Balderton is a civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, lying immediately south of Newark-on-Trent. The settlement combines built-up residential areas with open farmland on its fringes. A focal point for local life is the parish church of St Giles, set close to the older lanes, and a village hall that hosts community meetings and events. Day-to-day services are arranged along the main roads and small local streets, and the pattern of housing reflects gradual post-war expansion alongside older cottages and terraces.

On the western edge of Balderton the footprint of the former RAF Balderton airfield remains visible in field boundaries and on aerial maps, a reminder of wartime activity that shaped parts of the local landscape.
