About

Beach ward encompasses the coastal strip of Arun district, centred on the town of Littlehampton. The area is defined by the mouth of the River Arun, where it meets the English Channel. The harbour and working port are active with fishing and leisure vessels. A long, shingle beach backed by greensward stretches eastwards, with a traditional promenade and amusement arcades near the town centre.

The west bank of the river is characterised by the harbour and industrial estates, contrasting with the residential areas inland. The East Bank features the harbour mouth and a lifeboat station. A unique concrete pier extends from the promenade, functioning as a functional coastal defence rather than a traditional seaside pier. Inland, the ward includes suburban housing and the West Beach green space, a local nature reserve.
