A passenger ferry runs across the channel, connecting Shaldon’s seawall, small beaches and boat berths to the opposite shore. The village has a mix of boatyards, slipways and promenades, and the Ness provides a focal point for tides, seabirds and passing yachts, with clear views along the estuary and out to the English Channel.
