Bryn-cae & Llanharan

Bryn-cae and Llanharan are neighbouring settlements in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf. The area is situated on the western edge of the county, bordering the Vale of Glamorgan. Its landscape is characterised by rolling farmland and residential streets, with the M4 motorway serving as a prominent transport route to the south. Historically, the local economy was linked to coal mining, though this industry has long since declined.

Llanharan is the larger of the two communities, featuring a railway station on the South Wales Main Line. The area includes several housing estates and local amenities such as shops and schools. A notable local landmark is the Llanharan Iron Age settlement, known as Caer Mynydd, an ancient hillfort site overlooking the surrounding countryside. The area provides a residential base with connections to larger employment centres like Cardiff and Bridgend.
