Callington & Pensilva

Callington sits on the edge of the Tamar Valley, with its history linked to mining and market trading. The town centre is arranged around Fore Street, leading to a prominent church on a hill. The surrounding landscape is defined by the Kit Hill Country Park, a former mining area now offering walking trails with expansive views across the valley into Devon. The River Tamar forms a natural border to the east, shaping the area's geography.

Pensilva is a smaller village situated on higher ground to the south, characterised by rows of traditional miners' cottages. The local community is centred around a primary school and a village hall. The area is crossed by public footpaths that connect to the wider network of trails through farmland and woodland. A notable local feature is the presence of several small, historic engine houses from its mining past, now standing in fields.
