About

Central Havant is the commercial heart of Havant borough, centred on the station and the main shopping streets. The railway station provides regular services along the south coast and to London, and the A27 runs just north of the town, linking local roads to the wider road network. Public services, small shops and cafes sit alongside civic buildings and community spaces, giving the centre a compact, walkable layout. Local plans and regeneration projects have focused on improving pedestrian access and linking the station more directly to the town centre.

Langstone lies on the northern shore of Langstone Harbour, where saltmarsh, tidal creeks and mudflats meet the lane to the bridge that carries the A3023 onto Hayling Island. The harbour shoreline here is used by wintering waders and geese and the tidal channels still show traces of old oyster beds and wooden groynes. Low-lying footpaths follow the shore and connect the village to small boat slips and a sequence of narrow lanes that run back into the fields and suburbs north of the harbour.
