Chalvey

Chalvey is a residential area in eastern Slough, bordered by the A4 to the north and the M4 motorway to the south. Its housing is primarily a mix of Victorian terraces and post-war developments, with a significant amount of social housing. The Grand Union Canal forms part of its western boundary, and the ward includes the large Salt Hill Park, which provides extensive green space for recreation and sports facilities. Chalvey Road serves as the main local high street for everyday shopping and services.

The ward is home to Slough's original public library building, a distinctive red-brick structure that now serves as a community centre. Chalvey is also known for the annual Chalvey Stabmonkey Festival, a unique local event with deep community roots. Industrial estates are located along its southern edges near the motorway, contributing to the local economy. The area has direct pedestrian access to Slough town centre via the underpasses beneath the A4.
