About

Chineham is a northern suburb of Basingstoke in the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane, Hampshire, roughly three miles from the town centre. The area was largely built from the 1970s onwards and combines residential estates with a local shopping centre that includes a supermarket, community facilities and small retailers. On the eastern edge a business park and light industrial estate provide a concentration of offices and distribution units, giving the suburb a clear employment hub within walking distance of some neighbourhoods. Transport links include local bus routes into Basingstoke and road access toward the A33 corridor.

Community facilities include primary schools, playing fields and sports pitches used by local clubs, plus a community centre and library services. A network of pedestrian and cycle paths links housing areas to the shopping centre and open spaces, and routes run towards the River Loddon valley to the north-east.
