Clifton Without & Skelton

Clifton Without & Skelton form a primarily residential area on York's northwestern edge, situated just outside the city's historic walls. The area is characterised by a mix of post-war housing estates, local shops, and schools, serving as a commuter gateway with good road links. The presence of the York Outer Ring Road defines much of its southern boundary, separating it from the more rural landscapes beyond.

The open grounds of the University of York's Heslington West campus extend into the area, providing green space.
