Cranbrook

Cranbrook is a new town in East Devon, planned and built on former farmland to the east of Exeter. The layout centres on a town centre with shops, cafes and everyday services, backed by a mix of housing and short walks to primary schools and a secondary campus. Community provision includes a library, health services and the Younghayes Centre, a multi-use hub that hosts events, sports and local meetings for residents across the growing neighbourhoods.

Open space and sustainable drainage form a visible part of the area: linear parks, cycle routes and a series of balancing ponds sit alongside play areas and sports pitches. Small business units and local retail provide nearby employment while bus and road links connect Cranbrook with Exeter and other parts of East Devon. The town’s phased development and its network of paths and green corridors mean many daily journeys stay within the area, and ongoing construction of later phases continues to shape the neighbourhood’s layout and facilities.
