Cuxton, Halling & Riverside

Cuxton, Halling & Riverside ward is situated along the southern bank of the River Medway in northwest Kent. It encompasses the linear villages of Cuxton and Halling, which are separated by the A228 road and the surrounding chalk hills. The area includes significant industrial and logistical sites, such as the large cement works, which have historically shaped the local economy. The landscape is a mix of residential streets, commercial premises, and areas of woodland and farmland on the slopes of the North Downs.

The riverside path forms a key recreational route, offering views across the water towards Wouldham and Burham. The ward contains several Scheduled Monuments, including parts of the Roman Watling Street. Community life is centred around the local schools, village halls, and pubs in each settlement. The area is notably defined by its transport links, being bordered by the M2 motorway and having a railway line running through it, connecting to the Medway Towns and beyond.
