About

Denham is a village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, set beside stretches of the Grand Union Canal and the River Misbourne. The parish includes Denham Green and New Denham and sits within the Colne Valley Regional Park. A series of lakes at Denham Country Park were created from former gravel workings and now provide paths and places for birdwatching and angling. The site of Denham Film Studios, founded by Alexander Korda in 1935, lies on the village edge and has left traces in local street patterns and building uses.

The village core contains St Mary’s parish church, a village green with a pond and a designated conservation area. The canal towpath, country-park trails and local sports clubs are used for regular leisure activity. Pubs and small shops serve the community while pockets of managed farmland and woodland sit close to housing. The mix of waterways, parkland and the former studio site gives Denham a distinct local character within Buckinghamshire.
