Dukinfield

Dukinfield ward lies in the eastern part of the Tameside borough, bordered by the River Tames to the south and west, which separates it from Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge. Its landscape includes the grounds of Dukinfield Old Hall Chapel, one of the oldest Nonconformist chapels in England, situated near the town's central library and civic buildings.

The ward contains several industrial and retail estates, reflecting its historical development. A notable feature is the Astley Sports Village, a large leisure complex serving the community. Public transport links, including bus routes, connect the area to wider Tameside. The Huddersfield Narrow Canal runs through the southern edge, passing near the site of the former Dukinfield Junction, which historically linked several important waterways.
