Fulstow

Fulstow ward encompasses a largely rural expanse within East Lindsey's western edge. The landscape is dominated by flat, open farmland, with fields primarily dedicated to arable crops and some livestock grazing. Scattered farmsteads and small hamlets like Fulstow itself and North Coates define the settlement pattern, connected by quiet country lanes. The area forms part of the larger Lincolnshire coastal plain, with a distinctly open and agricultural character.

The ward's western boundary is directly shaped by the ancient coastline, now marked by the Louth Navigation canal and associated drainage channels. This low-lying environment is part of a managed landscape, with watercourses and banks crucial for flood defence. The presence of former airfield sites from the Second World War, now largely returned to agriculture, adds a layer of historical texture to the flat terrain. Community life is centred on the local parish councils and the primary school in North Coates.
