Hill Head ward occupies a coastal stretch along the Solent in southeast Fareham. The area is primarily residential, characterised by bungalows and detached houses, with a significant retired population. Its main feature is the long, shingle beach and the adjacent Solent Breezes holiday park, which defines much of the shoreline activity.

The area is centred around the small Hill Head Sailing Club and its concrete slipway. A unique and specific local landmark is the 'Titchfield Haven' signpost at the beach entrance, pointing inland to the nature reserve. The landscape is flat and open, with the coastal road passing a row of beach huts before giving way to the protected wetlands of Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve at its western edge.
