Llandyrnog & Llanarmon-yn-Iâl

Llandyrnog and Llanarmon-yn-Iâl lie in central Denbighshire on the southern edge of the Vale of Clwyd. Llandyrnog clusters around St Tyrnog's church and a modest village core of houses, farm buildings and a village hall. Llanarmon-yn-Iâl sits a few miles to the west, its name recording the village's position "yn Iâl" — the medieval commote often anglicised as Yale. Both parishes retain a farming economy and a network of lanes and stone walls that reflect medieval field patterns and droving routes.

The landscape is a mix of pasture, intermittent limestone outcrops and hedged lanes, with footpaths and bridleways linking farms to hill country to the south. Local life revolves around parish churches, community halls and occasional livestock sales; a short walk will bring you to small chapels, limekiln remains and farms with long-established names on maps. For visitors the area offers quiet walking and a close sense of local history without major tourist infrastructure.
