About

Llantrisant sits on the western edge of the Valleys in Rhondda Cynon Taf and takes its name from the "church of the three saints." The town grew from a medieval market settlement and retains a compact centre of lanes and civic buildings. The Royal Mint occupies a large site on the town's outskirts, where coin production for the UK and international customers continues to be a major local employer. Surrounding the settlement are patches of farmland, commons and former quarry sites that step down the ridge.

Talbot Green lies a short distance to the south and functions as the area's retail and transport hub. It sits at the junction of the A4119 and A473 and hosts retail parks, business units and services that draw shoppers and commuters from across the borough. Small residential estates link the two communities and footpaths and lanes lead up to open ground on the surrounding limestone ridge, giving local routes that connect town centres with the open landscape.
