About

Looe East & Deviock ward encompasses a section of the Cornish coastline east of the town of Looe itself. The area includes the village of Downderry and the smaller coastal settlement of Seaton. The landscape is characterised by rugged cliffs and small, pebbly beaches facing into Whitsand Bay. Inland, the ward extends into the rural hinterland of the Rame Peninsula, with a patchwork of fields and scattered farmsteads.

A notable feature is Tregantle Fort, a large 19th-century coastal defence structure built into the cliffs above Whitsand Bay. The South West Coast Path runs through the ward, providing access to the dramatic shoreline. The area is primarily residential and agricultural, with a quieter character than the busier fishing port of Looe to the west.
