Marfleet

Marfleet ward is located on the eastern edge of Kingston upon Hull, characterised by a mix of residential and industrial landscapes. The area is defined by the significant presence of the River Hull and the vast, flat expanse of the Humber Estuary to the south. Housing is primarily composed of post-war and modern estates, with industrial zones focused around the Marfleet industrial estate and the King George Dock complex, a major port facility.

The ward's geography is dominated by waterways and reclaimed land, with the Hedon Road corridor serving as a key transport route. A notable local landmark is the solitary Marfleet windmill, a remnant of the area's agricultural past, which stands near the estuary banks. The landscape is open and exposed, with large skies and views across the estuary towards the Lincolnshire coast, reflecting its position within the wider Humber region.
