Pennington

Pennington ward encompasses a rural and residential area on the western edge of the New Forest National Park. The landscape is characterised by open heathland, woodland, and farmland, with the village of Pennington itself forming the main settlement. The ward includes the coastal marshes of Keyhaven and the historic Normandy Farm, with views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

The area is defined by its proximity to the Lymington River estuary and the extensive salt marshes, which are a significant habitat for birdlife. A narrow lane leads to the remote shingle bank of Hurst Spit, crowned by Hurst Castle. Local life revolves around the village green, the church, and the sailing activities centred on the nearby Lymington River.
