Poulton

Poulton is a residential area in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, on the eastern side of the peninsula close to Bebington. The neighbourhood is made up of a mix of housing types, local shops and schools, with small pockets of green space and allotments woven into the street pattern. Local buses provide links to Birkenhead and town centres, and Bebington and Bromborough stations on the Wirral Line are within easy reach for journeys across the peninsula and into Liverpool.

The locality developed around the old Poulton manor and the Lancelyn name still appears in nearby street names and older maps, reflecting the area’s longer history. Road layouts and property boundaries record former field lines in places, and several community groups use the parish halls and centres for events and activities. For residents the area functions as a primarily residential base with straightforward access to services, schools and workplaces elsewhere on the Wirral.
