Rhyl South West

Rhyl South West is an electoral ward within the town of Rhyl in Denbighshire, lying to the southwest of the town centre. The area is mainly residential, with a mix of terraced streets and pockets of semi‑detached housing. Local provision includes convenience shops, primary schools and community halls that serve everyday needs, and several small greens and allotment plots tucked between streets. The ward returns councillors to Denbighshire County Council and works alongside Rhyl town council on local services and community projects.

Transport links run through the ward, with frequent bus services into the town centre and to neighbouring communities, making the seafront and main shopping streets reachable on foot from much of the area. Parts of the ward still show the town’s 19th‑century street pattern: narrow terraces with short front gardens and rear alleyways remain in places, a reminder of Rhyl’s growth in the late Victorian era. Local groups use the community centres and parks for regular activities.
