Roedean is a residential enclave perched on chalk cliffs east of central Brighton. The area is dominated by the prominent Roedean School campus and characterised by large, detached houses with sea views along its quiet, leafy roads. It borders the South Downs National Park, offering direct cliff-top walks with expansive vistas across the English Channel. The local beach below is predominantly shingle and accessed via steep paths.

Adjacent to the west, the Marina is a major man-made harbour and leisure complex. It contains a dense concentration of residential apartments, a large supermarket, multiple chain restaurants, and a cinema. The functional harbour shelters hundreds of private boats and is a focal point for fishing and nautical activity. A pedestrian walkway along the breakwater provides views back towards the chalk cliffs and the city.
